Mrs. Calanthia Lugena Mayweather was born March 22, 1968, to Johnnie Mae Leggett and Allen Hobbs, Jr. in Waycross, GA. She received her formal education in the Detroit, Michigan school system.
She accepted Christ as her personal Savior and was a faithful member of Greater Mt. Zion AME Church. She worked many years in the restaurant industry as a General Manager and took extra pride in her work and service.
Calanthia congenial character won a place in the hearts of those privileged to have known her. She loved to fellowship with her family and friends. She enjoyed the little things in life, such as a good BBQ cook out and shopping. Most of all she relished in the time she shared with her little niece “Kinsley”, whom she played Hide & Seek with everyday.
On Saturday, January 15th, God called her from her earthly home to his heavenly home.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Chanel Hobbs; son, Timothy Mayweather; grandson Antonio Hobbs; mother, Johnnie Mae Leggett; father, Allen (Janie) Hobbs, Jr.; sisters, Ann Hobbs, Sabrina (David) Hamm and Addie (Eric) Dixon; brothers, Allen (Kema) Hobbs and Allen Chatman; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.
