Mrs. Jeanette Hodges Hardee was born December 16, 1949, in Statenville, Georgia to Edward Hodges and Fannie Jones Hodges. She lived the majority of her life in Homerville, Georgia. She was married to the late Lester Frank Hardee. Jeannette was a caregiver to many children whom she loved as her own. Mrs. Hardee accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal Savior in her earlier years and also became a member of Browns Chapel AME church. She was known as loving and compassionate, along with having a sense of humor. She peacefully transitioned her life from earth on Friday March 18, 2022, joining her husband Lester Frank Hardee in heaven. Preceding her in death were three sisters, Edna Mae Richburg, Annie Hodges Brown, and Cora Vince; seven brothers, Willie, Billy, Edward, Jessie, Eddie Mac, Henry, Mike, and Horace Hodges. Jeanette leaves to cherish her precious memories of her life to her son, Tommy Wyche; a daughter, Lynn; grandchildren, Lynessa Looney (Michael), Calvin, Charlisia, K’lyn, Elizabeth, Destinio, Destiny, Heaven’nevaeh Wyche, Zachary and Jadianna; sixteen great-grandchildren; five Sisters, Fannie Bacon, Dianne Hodges, Neecie Lamie, and Willie Mae Rich (Edward); one brother, Eddie Lee Hodges (Andrea); two god children, Eddie Thomas Jr. and Nicole Roe; best friend, Elizabeth Hodges; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
A celebration of life service will be held Saturday April 2, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. at Brown Chapel A.M.E. Church, Homerville, Georgia. Rev. James Alexander is pastor and Rev. Joseph Mobley will bring words of comfort.
